Cloughie

Been to see Cloughie tonight, he was a lot brighter and the pain is easing. It was good to see him so chirpy. The swelling is reducing and he has made good progress over the last week.

All being well Cloughie will be at the game on Saturday, when i hope he gets a warm welcome back from everyone.

Advice for Weymouth fans for this Saturday.

I've few questions for you. There's a few of us going up on the train and we're going to make a day of it.

How much is admission to your ground? Because I can't seem to find it on your website.

What's the food like at your ground and how much is a pint?

Any good local ales to sample?

How far is the train station from the town centre?

Are there any good pubs in the town centre or on the way to the ground?

Any good takeaways/Chippys that are a reasonable distance from the town centre or ground?

Or is there any good sights to see on Taunton?

I'm praying for good weather because i'm really looking forward to coming to your corner of Somerset. How has your season been thus far? Ours has been indifferent, we've lost our last few but we've been playing OK to be honest.

Very gutsy win against a side previously 100%. First time we've beaten them in a decade. Had to withstand a lot of pressure - two amazing goal-line clearances by Macca. But unbelievable goal by Cole to put us two up. Rice sent off at end.

And (what I thought was a pretty inept performance) - our goal was a 'get out of jail' straight in from a corner from Ricer and their goal was a goalkeeping error after Andy Butler lost the ball on the edge of our box. We did not creat a single chance I'm afraid ... (Waiting for the flak!) - Tony

just seen about that bloke complaining about taunton beating trac 20 nil. fair play to west he was completely right. at the end of the day the bloke had nothing better to do same as all the others who write in to the gazzette complaining about taunton need to get a life it isnt the football clubs fault there sat on there backside all day doing nothing because they can't be bothered to get a job flipping no marks!!!

At last the day has arrived. First put forward at a meeting of the Supporters Club committee in January last year, Andy's big day is here.

Well done to all who have contributed to get this on. Special mention I am sure must go to Tom, Kevin, Andy P, Stan, Marcel and, of course, the big man himself Andy Cload. There will have been many helpers who have already given up loads of time for the cause and even more on the day. These things are not simple and easy to organise. I know as I had put in a lot of time last year before the match was postponed. There is a lot of work 'behind the scenes' including checking health and safety issues, meetings with the Police and making sure there will be enough loos! Congratulations to every single one of you who have conributed towards making this day happen.

I'd like to add my own special thanks to Anthony Yaskin and his staff at Yaskin Sports in Clevedon. He made the generous donation of the team shirts for the families' memorial match and thoughtfully ensured that the strips were current issue thus enabling any damaged shirts to be easily replaced over the coming years of this annual fixture.

A family commitment today locally regretably keeps me away from Wordsworth Drive but I shall observe 2 minutes' silence at 11am which will link me spiritually with the poignant occasion.

Six a side is going ok 20 signed up teams, and four more that look pretty certain. However, we are still looking to get closer to last year's 32 teams with some late entries.

Last Night's Game

Plenty of positive's to be taken out of the game, thought our keeper Chris Astley (ex bath) was outstanding, made some great saves got clattered by one of the biggest built centre half's I've ever seen in Damien Stewart and dealt with it fine and just carried on,

the whole team battle hard but after QPR introduced the 2 wide men and started to stretch our back line a bit more they became more into their element, the difference in fitness between the 2 sides also showed in the last 20 min's or soo, That's when QPR really turned on the style and started to play there more attractive stuff, and scored 2 very good goals,

Shaun Anthony's strike is already a goal of the season contender despite it being only pre season, a peach from 30 odd yards, straight as you like, just like an arrow.

was also encouraged by the display of the guy from Bish Lyd, Painter he'S called, seem's a great prospect,
